Services
A false ceiling is a secondary ceiling suspended below the structural slab, used to conceal services, improve acoustics, and carry the finished ceiling appearance. Atom Structures supplies and installs gypsum board, mineral fibre, metal, acoustic, grid, linear, baffle, and calcium silicate ceiling systems.
Atom Structures supplies and installs gypsum board ceilings, mineral fibre ceilings, metal ceilings, acoustic ceilings, grid ceilings, linear ceilings, baffle ceilings, calcium silicate ceilings, and customised false ceiling systems for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
A ceiling is the last trade to close and the first place coordination failures become visible. Grid layout is set out against the light fittings, diffusers, sprinklers, and speakers before suspension starts, so that services land on module rather than being cut in afterwards, and so that access panels sit where maintenance actually needs them.

Questions
Gypsum board gives a continuous flat or curved surface and suits reception areas, lobbies, and spaces where the ceiling is meant to read as a plane. Mineral fibre grid ceilings give easy access to services above and suit offices and back-of-house areas. Metal, linear, and baffle ceilings are durable and easy to clean, which is why they are common in station concourses and public circulation areas.
They can, when specified for it. Mineral fibre tiles, perforated metal panels with an acoustic backing, and baffle systems absorb sound within a room. Reducing sound transfer between two rooms is a different problem and depends on the partition and on how the ceiling void is sealed above it.
They resist impact and cleaning, they can be demounted for maintenance access without damage, and open baffle systems allow services above to be reached while still giving the concourse a finished ceiling line. Atom Structures has installed linear and baffle ceilings on metro infrastructure work.
The ceiling scope includes setting out and forming openings for lighting, diffusers, sprinklers, detectors, and speakers, and providing access panels. The services themselves are installed by the relevant trade, with the ceiling grid set out to receive them on module.
Per square metre against the approved ceiling layout, with the rate driven by the system specified, the suspension height, the amount of bulkhead and curved work, and the density of service penetrations. Pricing is quoted against the bill of quantities.
